Correct, $1k.

I say run the damn thing w/o the promoters. They screwed up by canceling it...

As stated a couple times, why not just run anyway and take on the challenge?
WWDAD?? :coolcowboy: |
Come on guys. Stop bickering. We can still make this race happen. Billy said we need 4 boats to run. As i see it we have 3, if the rage guys come. So all we need is 1 boat. Out of 56000 members thare has to be 1 willing to race. Someone man up and try to beat the 19 monza.

I would buy a T shirt if it helped to get the race going. Still, I would love to bring this. Hell it even raced against Don back in the day. |

I would do it but a grand to enter, hotel, travel, gas and what ever breaks is just to much bank for me.

Monza what boats are you counting?

I have been following this thread and IMO I think this would make a great event, as it has in the past, however (and just my opinion here) I think the entry fee is quite high regardless of giveaway items.
I would love to participate in this at some point but could not justify the registration fee, gas, hotels and travel for a single day out on the water. I do also agree that the bragging rights are priceless, and it would be a great accomplishment to win (congrats Sonic30ss!!! :drink: ) I think it would attract more people if it was scheduled better (as CIGDAZE mentioned), this race falls on the same dates as the OPA race, and I am sure there are at least a handful of participants from OPA that may participate in this event if not on conflicting dates. It may even be a good idea to contact the president of OPA regarding the 2012 event. Seeing that our seaon is short here maybe scheduling it very early or late in the season would benefit, and having a lower entry fee to attract more amatuers would benefit the event. Billy has put on numerous events with great success in the past and is trying to create another, instead of all the non sense and banter, maybe as an offshore community we could help bring this event together. I for one would be more then happy to help see this come together in 2012 and with any luck participate. This season has been hard for a lot of us "boating on a budget" and may also be a reason participation was low. Again, just the opinion of a 31 year old boater. And hope at least a couple of you agree :ernaehrung004: |
