Never took any of my go fasts more than 10 miles off shore but took my little 17 Whaler 30 miles out to Beaver Island in 3 footers and came back in 4-5's, had to work the throttles like an off shore racer to keep from going airborne lol.

The Bimini~Freeport trip from West Palm or Ft. Lauderdale is a 50~60 mile deal that I have done several times in Formulas from 24~27 footers and once from Miami to Bimini in my 18' Formula.

I guess the farthest I have been was in my 272LS with 3: other boats from Key Largo to Cay Sal in the south western Bahamas...which is about 125 miles. On a clear day you can see the mountains in eastern Cuba...kind of scary.

In our 32' SeaCraft have been 120nm straight out of NJ fishing past Tom's and into the stream itself. Run out all night easy to conserve fuel get there for dawn, troll and then run home.

2010: Miami to Bimini and back as fast as I could go in a 39 Top Gun (and beat a new canopied MTI that didn't break).
