Love everything about that boat

Cat insurance is about $3.50 per $1000 of value with a perfect record , long lay up period and no Florida navigation, so annual insurance for $1.7 million value is about $70,000 per year. NJ property taxes are about half of that for a $1.7 million house or $35,000 per year in property taxes.

glassdave 09-21-2011 07:45 PM

I've never been a big fan of car themed boats but that thing is bad friggin azz!

I DO NOT think that is an issue w the owner

Riley0114 09-21-2011 07:48 PM

Even though MTI made a bat boat. I think if you ignored the emblems this would be the ultimate bat boat

I hope Bruce Wayne is looking for a new boat. It's out of my price range. LOL

PokerRun388 09-21-2011 08:04 PM

Why would someone spend all that time and money building a custom 48MTI, then turn around and sell it 1 year later....

The boat is definitely a showpiece, but its gonna take the right person to want an all black boat and trailer in the summer...

But its amazing to look at, I saw it in person at desert storm, was something to see, unreal.

Nah. it's like renting a first class "Working girl" who is drop dead gorgeous..and when she drops her skirt...you see she has a "rudder".

OK, well since the boat issue could be fixed at a minimum with some split loom and cable ties...maybe not quite the same thing.

Still a beautiful boat...and black boats are EVIL!!!

:evilb:

I was wondering the same.

glassdave 09-22-2011 08:51 AM

I am guessing throttles are fly by wire and it could be set up like some of the outboard boats with a syncro. Course that wouldnt be good for splitting shifts around the dock . . . . hmmm . . . . inquiring minds want to know :D

I read that it is actually split even though you can't tell in the pics. I saw a conversation on this a while back too.

Maroon Z044 boat had that as the throttle and two ebrake handles acted as shifters. Not sure on that or this though.

Legendary Marine 09-22-2011 11:10 AM

It actually has a Zero Effort DTS shifter in it that has been reworked to accomodate the Vette style. The Throttles are splittable and there is two gear shifts.

Sea-Dated 09-22-2011 11:32 AM

If it doesn't sell by Jan is it going to be in the Barrett Jackson auction again?

This MTI was themed after a ZR1 Corvette with all the original GM parts used in the build purchased from GM dealers. The boat is constructed of carbon fiber. The black paint job is accented by carbon fiber airbrush work on the canopy and the entire hull of the boat. The exterior of the boat has ZR1 inspired hull sides, headlights, taillights, marker lights, custom ZR48 emblems and engine vents. The cockpit is truly one of a kind. The cockpit hatches are a custom gull wing type that have built-in escape hatches. The canopy also has an electric sliding rear window. The custom dash has fully function gauges, a custom ZR1 steering wheel and shifter. The custom shifter throttles both engines and controls drive trim. The interior is ultra leather and suede, with six air conditioned seats. The driver and throttle man’s seat are power sliding with footrests. The air conditioning is provided by a 24K BTU cruise air marine A/C system. The entire cockpit area is accented by custom Lumiflex and LED lighting.

A true state-of-the-art sound system was installed which includes a custom engine block bow speaker pod with LED accent lights. The pod lifts electronically from the deck. The pod has 8 Focal K2 coaxial speakers and 2 horns, 2 Kicker Solo Baric 10-inch subs in custom matched ported boxes firing into the cockpit, aft-mounted speaker pods, custom amp cooling system, Apple TV with Wi-Fi network, custom iPad dock integrated into the ZR1 glove box and a separate volume control for the subs, cockpit and exterior sound. The total sound system is 8000 watts RMS. The uniquely designed engine bays are loaded with carbon fiber trim, LED and Lumiflex lighting, custom ZR48 badging and bulkhead accent panels. The accessories are powered by a 4.2 kW Fischer Panda Diesel Genset. The power for this monster comes from two Mercury Racing 1350 HP twin-turbo engines with number 8 drives. The engines are accented with ZR1 type supercharger covers, giving the engines a proper Corvette themed appearance. This one-of-a-kind boat has won many awards and is truly every Corvette enthusiasts “Dream Boat”.

TRAILER

This rolling masterpiece is in a class all by itself. This boat trailer is equipped with a generator, water tank, power washer, engine flush system and five televisions. The trailer is designed to tilt to make an oversize boat legal to transport on its side, thus not requiring an over width permit to haul. This trailer was designed to be the ultimate display trailer. The large cargo box with raising lid houses five TVs and a DVD player. This trailer has a stainless steel floor, 900+ LED lights and blue-neon lights mounted to the frame above and below the frame rails. The air ride suspension allows the boat to ride on a cushion of air with the added capability to deflate or overinflate each of the four axles. This boat trailer is accessorized by billet aluminum steps, stainless steel fenders, chrome hand rails, hydraulic landing gear and custom paint.

i know, but i was never a fan of the theme boats......maybe GM (Government Motors) will buy it, since they're now flush with all that Obama cash :party-smiley-004:

I guess i can cancel you out as a potential buyer then... Thanks for your input.:drink:

Pro1 09-22-2011 01:45 PM

The boat is constructed of Carbon Fibre.

That is the first statement. Is this an option for an MTI? I noticed a number of high end MTI are S glass or knytex.
