In our flood of 2008, I had about 5 feet of river water on the main floor of two houses that I own. We immediately tore them down to the studs and cleaned them with a product called Sporiclean (link below). Before we began reconstructing, I had the health department out to do a check (not required, just wanted to cover my ass), and they could not believe how clean the samples were. This stuff is an enyme that really attacks stuff. Much much better than bleach. Do some Googling and you will find out more. Since then, we have used it for carpet cleaning, wall cleaning, boat cleaning, and it has worked great.

Mold killer gets rid of mold permanently. There are many products on the market that will kill the mold and remove it from your home, but it keeps coming back. Fungicide is a better mold killer than bleach because it not only gets rid of the mold spores, but cleans up the odor as well.
