Manhattan fun run
 

Is it happening this year? Haven't heard anything.

Yes billy is planning on doing it on this Sunday. Who going? Believe I'll be there in the Outerlimits.

NYC Brunch Run
 

…… We do our annual Brunch Run around Manhattan on Oct 9th, based out of LaMotta’s Restaurant/Manhasset Bay Marina…we take off at noon, go down the East River, up the Hudson River, return on the Harlem River, and back up Long Island Sound to LaMotta’s for brunch. Maybe you know a few boats/guys that would like to do it.
We meet at 12 noon at Buoy #27 in front of Port Washington……don’t be late……I don’t want to leave without ya’.
…or just meet us back at LaMotta’s Restaurant for Brunch and ‘chatter’…we should be back around 2 pm.
Please follow all 'rules of the road' and watch out for Kayakers racing around the city. You'd be surprised at how many 'eyes' will be watching you.
We normally stop for a moment at the lower basin, where the Hudson River and East River meet, to allow all of the stragglers/slow boats to 'catch up'...like me...and allow boats from other ports to join in.

Sounds like an awesome run. I wish I knew about it earlier- I guess its an unofficial event. I'll put it on the calendar for next year.

I am playing it week to week. I am hoping that the boat is headed south after sunday. Still trying to work out the logistics on that. But I can come by car......:coolcowboy:

it's a wild guess because you never know exactly when we will actually get moving......but I would guess somewhere around 1pm by the Statue of Liberty......??

john, where are u guys launching ?

Planning on launching at Tappan Boat Ramp.......I used it in the beginning of the season and it seemed really nice........

Any other suggestions.....I know the manor haven ramp is closer But I think it is only good at high tide........

Chopper is booked for Saturday on a another Run and we are heading North. We won't be near the harbor at all.

In previous years I have done Statue of Liberty portraits with boats shooting off of another boat.

Tappen is good. just use the side closest to the steel bulkhead.

Ive used the ramp a bunch of times at a place called Bar Beach that isnt too far. Its in hempstead harbor by the some sort of lipa? plant.

that is straight across the harbor but Tappan is brand new and really nice compared to any other in the area......you coming to the run......??
