How much less do they weigh compared to say a iron head HP500EFI?

I think iron headed big blocks are somewhere around 650-700 lbs. An aluminum block/head LSx should be about 450

There are a few guys around with Turbo 5.3s in Jet boats... straight out of the junkyard, add ARP rod bolts, carb, & intake... I cant say that I know of anyone running them in a larger tub, though.

Seems like a pair in a 28' hull (kinda like the Team Kansas Saber) would be a helluva lotta fun.

My Daily Driver is a 2004 CrewCab Silverado with a Supercharged 6.0. I bought the Magnuson supercharger kit new, swapped it out in about 8 hrs. I run 8.5psi of boost. does Great for a 6,500+ pound truck with a smallblock. It can light the tires going 50+ mph. Other than pushing the guts out of the transmission I have not had 1 problem in 6yrs (well, buying so many rear tires is a problem to my wife :) ) it shifts at 5700 rpm, it can go over 145mph (that was my limit, truck was still pulling hard) it gives most mustangs fits :) There is a supercharged cobra at my work that will smoke me, I don't mess with him....

I might have your buddy with the cobra covered with my pickup truck. It's just a 6.0 with a rotary muffler... :party-smiley-004:

I can attest to how awesome these LS motors respond to boost :evilb:
