man it's VERY hard to say...every hull has, if you will, a terminal velocity...just look at race boats...hell my parrents have a flat deck with 900sc's and it's really not all that much faster than the 750's!...plus a large limmiting factor is they are not really dialing it in...they are just changing props...not drive hight, cf or cg on either axis....and even props,,, someone else is doing the prop work so that can be limiting for the above factor...but even that is worth only a bit....you have a BEAUTIFUL rig there man!!!! when someone ask's we to dain in a boat i look EVERYWHERE before i give 'em any #'s....

"Joe- were do you think I should be???"....YOUR THERE MAN!!!...A KICK ASS RIDE AT OVER 95!!!!!

Default speed

dan,

I am sure you have thought of this but are you comparing apples to apples? I know your boat has a lot of sweet cabin options which means added weight which reduces speed.

I would have to say 95 is really good, I have a dyno'd 600 hp and we are running right at 94-95 with similar hull. Take into the consideration I dont have air or vaccu flush head and the head room that you have. so the extra hp may equal out in speed to mine, and a slingshot is a very effiecient hull they run like 87-88 mph with 500efi's. I think you may be beating yourself up.. good luck!

p.s. I have 1.5 drive 30p 4 blade lab finished

"means added weight which reduces speed"...INCORRECT sir!!!...it's where the weight is!...i'm 500lbs over all the time after every race!

a stock sling shot at 88 w/efi's...NOT! their factory supported 388 didn't go that fast...that's only 1mph and some change off the world speed record,,,with an interior!..i think not...now u r runn'n 95 with 30's...man u must be spin'n the **** out of them!!!

had to edit that!

Mike,

My boat is almost the exact same weight as the 600 sc boat from two years ago, maybe even a bit lighter. Lighter materials, vaccuum bagging etc. Plus I have to agree with Joe, weight is not really a factor, I know for this boat. How do I know, AT has tested the boat with all different weights and the weight did not effect the speeds to much. But, that is the first place i strted asking my questions as well.

Joe,

I hear you about there are a whole bunch of factors in testing. Pat ran some 30 p with the 1:36 and we gained minimal speeds. SO the next step is changing to the 1:5 gears and start prop testing, then we are going to look at spacers etc. Pat is comitted to dialing this boat in 100 percent. We are almost there. At 95 mph we were only at 5050 rpms, so we are close, real close. The boat really did handle well at those speeds though. Thanks for the compliements and the comments.

well,,,aside from charging ya!!LOL...1.5 r going to be the way to go would be my bet..if the x is ULTRA high then prior going to a spacer i would run some herrings.

my guess on that hull (i never dialed in one) some machine work may grab ya 1-3.

Acceleration was a bit slow, not sure of the cruise speed at 4000, I want to say around 60, but at about 3500 it was 54 mph.

Rain help us back from any more testing today, pat was able to borrow a pair of 1:5 lowers from performance marine(thanks) and we are going to do some testing in the morning with the 1:5's and some other props. I think we have a pair of 30 not labbed, a pair of 32 herrings, and a pair of 32 non labbed to try tomorrow.
