How much different is the bottom of the 40 vs the 43? That boat looks stable as table in the video. Sweet looking boat

OL40SVX 11-22-2011 09:57 PM

Rik, there is actually quite a difference. The 43 is actually more stable and runs flatter. Both great bottoms.

Enough 4 Play 11-22-2011 10:10 PM

What happened to that boat??? It looks completely trashed.

Boat Boss 11-22-2011 10:26 PM

The boat was in the process of board sanding to bring the finish work up from a race boat finish when it was built, to a flawless deck and hillsides before painting. It was actually just basic paint and stick on graphics when new. The shop where it was worked on was closed and ran off with the customers money. It's been sitting for over a year like this.

This is gonna be an awesome thread. Please post pics as the rehab continues! :)

waterboy222 11-23-2011 11:35 AM

Love that boat! Thanks for the pics! Keep us updated. Is it going to be rigged into a pleasure boat or kept as a raceboat?

quicklt1 11-23-2011 11:47 AM

That boat is sick! . . . . . even in the shape its in its still bad azz! . . . . . cant wait to se the rehab pics as it comes along. Keep 'em coming.

Its a shame when things like this get out of hand and a shop loses touch, looses accountability. Sorry for the aggravation you must have been through. Its an amazing boat and its good to see it getting back on track.

quicklt1 11-23-2011 04:08 PM

stupid question ..do those enclosed canopy boats have ac or do you just sweat when its hot??

Cash Bar 11-23-2011 04:12 PM

AC and yes you still do...

Who rebuilt the motors?

302Sport 11-24-2011 08:30 AM

Is the bussle included in the 40 feet?? Also is the transom notched???

The bustle is only partially included. Yes they have a notch transom.

sv43BB 11-24-2011 09:45 AM

Think JC rebuilt the motors year or two ago. The 40 is one of the best bottom ever built. For its size there is not another boat of any manufacture that would conpare.

Insane to paint a boat black. My red one was hot enough, can't imagine putting any skin on a black one.

Boat Boss 11-24-2011 09:48 AM

JC did build the motors and recently Ron Potter has gone thru them and detuned them down to 900's

302Sport 11-24-2011 10:54 AM

Dan, how many feet long is the boat overall and how many feet from the back of the boat is the actual running surface??

caferacer 11-24-2011 11:51 AM

That is a very hot and sexy looking boat!!!!!

TBAG 11-24-2011 07:18 PM

There is a good possibility that it will go back to racing.
