It's too bad winter is about to set in and all the leaves have fallen off the money tree.

Wildman_grafix 11-26-2011 08:48 AM

I thought they went out a long time (years) ago?

Too far for me to perform an inspection. I hate to bid on an item I have not put my eyes on.
Wonder what the pair of 525's are going to sell for?
How many parts were taken off of them and sold for cash?

Look at the thread in the PQ section, appears the motors and drives go with a boat.

pkspx 11-26-2011 04:41 PM

factory closed up awhile ago, this is probably the bank coming in i bet ??

kilrbusa 11-29-2011 03:07 AM

SAD---more of America's infastructure going away.---alot of time and dedication there.

...i think i already seen knock off chinese sea-doo style jet boats on fleabay!(i wonder who the hell is buying that garbage?)

fantastixvoyage 01-17-2012 07:38 PM

Looks like all the molds have a new owner @ $200k and someone else got all the crap for about another $200k. Why on earth you would overpay like that on everything then not get the molds is beyond me.

http://auction.orbitbid.com/items.cf...xprice=&page=1

Looks to me like Claremont's been watching too many storage wars! Yuuuuuppppp!!!!!! :lolhit:

Powerquest230 01-17-2012 08:14 PM

Didn't see the crated 525's on the list, guess they went home with someone before the auction started,

dreamer 01-17-2012 08:27 PM

Best thing there was a boat from another manufacturer

Just a thinning of the herd

There were WAY to many players in a small niche market like performance boating

The bank is still sorting through the items that have liens. Later auction should have the 525/its/xr setups as well as the other unbuilt 38 pq, 22 pq, 47 apache and the 35' aeroteck

The sutphen was one of the better buys at $35k. Should have picked that up for the wet sump 6's.

spazboz 01-17-2012 09:12 PM

I did not expect the bids to go that high. The Sutphen wound up where I thought it would. I was blown away by the 440 bucks someone gave for the cracked 350 mags.

I was blown away by just about everything Claremont bought not to mention the unbuilt 38 for $60k!!!!

I agree the sutphen at $35k was about right. Kicking myself for not picking it up for the 6's.

For sure. I live 2.5 miles from the shop, so I took the tour. I planned on bidding on some of the items, but the prices shot up past my comfort zone.

The sutphen sold for 97k with 900hp blower motors No 6 drives and a trailer fully rigged running 108mph in 2003

Did they say anthing about whether the dually drives ok by chance? Listing didn't really say a whole lot. Hope they can hang on to it and come across this weekend to pick it up and drive it back.

I had hoped to pick up a whole list of things but the prices just got too crazy.

XT-Innovator 01-17-2012 11:52 PM

Fantastix,

I was bidding against Claremont on a few things but was blown away at what he maxxed his min. bid.....and when I got pissed and kept bidding the minimum bid to see where he quit, I never did meet the max bid.

What if Claremont is a fake bidder?????

i did the same on some stuff i was after but i noticed Claremont coming up on tons of other stuff and looking at some of the numbers i was seeing it was pointless. He was making a power move on powerquest lol. Really thought the whole thing was crazy when i saw an $89 dollar harbor freight buffer go to him for $506  will be interesting to see how the whole thing shakes out seems that the bulk of the factory went to one party and the molds to another. . . . . . really interesting

delsol 01-18-2012 02:21 AM

Anyone know what happened to Octavian-(47' Apache)? I don't see it listed in the auction now -- it was before...

AJ POWERPLAY 01-18-2012 04:58 AM

Would be nice to find some.contact info on who bought the 5 fairings they had, one looked like it may have fit my boat

boomer 01-18-2012 06:51 AM

So who bought this one

http://auction.orbitbid.com/details....=705191#photos

Why some of those other items when for some crazy prices in this so called tough economy.

THE 288 KID 01-18-2012 07:04 AM

Maybe claremont is a bidder they use to run things up to set reserves?

wouldn't surprise me....that's an old trick

Nauti Kitty 01-18-2012 08:14 AM

Usually someone bidding things up doesnt win it all.

Doubtful. Claremont ran EVERYTHING up beyond what any sane person would pay. If he ran it up near retail then dumped it on somebody then sure.

I can just imagine all the theories on claremont. As I mentioned, there was an investment firm out of NJ with the name Claremont. Could be them????

I could just imagine an intern walking in today to proudly proclaim he won every auction for $275k...oh and wisely avoided those junky mold things :lolhit: Look on his bosses face would be classic!!! Anyways be curious to see what really went down. may have to call the lender to get the scoop AND my congratulations if these were actually real bidders!!!!!

boomer 01-18-2012 08:23 AM

I think the bidders have been watching to many reruns of storage wars

lmao :D aint that the truth

well . . . . whatever happened yesterday i certainly hope the brand gets preserved. To all the devoted PQ owners this will be an interesting page in your book :drink:

onesickpantera 01-18-2012 08:30 AM

I was watching 8 items and Claremont bought every one at prices much higher than I expected. Some of them so high it just didn't make sense.

Makes you wonder if it was maybe someone pissed at PQ? Not sure what the repercussions would be for not paying??? But some of those prices seem crazy.

boatnt 01-18-2012 08:38 AM

Not sure if you can do that,,,you have to be pre approved the bid...

boatnt 01-18-2012 08:43 AM

Clairmont bought pretty much everything but the Molds...
All the PQ records.Tools, machinery,,like they are trying to start a new business,,but failed on the most important thing,The Molds...

Steelhead on the other hand bought all the molds and that 38 but no office records or assembly paper work...

only time will tell

something else to ponder . . . .

pending the legalities of who has the rights (if there even are any) to build the boats there is a point where it is just feasible to pull a new set of molds from an existing boat. Realistically if claremont is going to revive the brand those molds can be reproduced no prob and probably at a cost less then what some of them went for.

You just have to supply a valid credit card. Maybe they did that then canceled the card. Or maybe it was a stolen card? LOL

I doubt that is what happened but some of those prices were crazy. I could buy brand new items cheaper than what they paid on a couple of them i was watching!

boatnt 01-18-2012 09:25 AM

yea you never know...

fantastixvoyage 01-18-2012 11:10 AM

Dave - I was thinking the same thing on the molds but to be honestly there was some serious cash recently spent on the 28/32 SC and the 38 as well as likely others by the last owner. Marine Concepts was contracted to create those and from what I hear their work is topnotch.

But you bring up some interesting points on legalities that I've wondered myself. With PQ basically dissolved who could even go after a company that splashes their models? The name/company was NOT included in this auction. Only way that could happen is if the current owner to the trademark was the high bidder, etc. Then with that said if that person was to put those pieces back together what is stopping the vendors, customers who paid downpayments, etc from going after the new owners??? If I recall correctly PQ never went thru the formal bankruptcy procedure (I could be wrong on this).

TEAMBAJA 01-18-2012 12:09 PM

Hey guys, Im Claremont, a.k.a. TEAMBAJA. Did you see all that cool stuff I bought yesterday? :drink:
