Was hanging out with Anthony this past Saturday night. He is going with a bigger, badder motor for this upcoming season. Was already running well over 100 mph with the old motor (700+) in his Challenger. The boat is blue by the way.

His new engine will be topped with an 8-71. He figures it will be putting out about 900 HP.

He said he really does not like to run the boat much over 100. Just going to get there quicker now.

im running lightning headers. bandit welded a tail pipe on the end of the headers about 2 ft long to extend it to 1 inch before the exhaust tips. basically a home made dry exhaust b/c it just wasnt in my budget for a new exhaust system. i have a crane 139651 cam, advertised duration 306int/318exh and didnt want reversion issues.

i spelled instagator that way because its a boat name and can be spelled anyway i like. actually im glad i did b/c i kno of 2 42' fountains from bandit owned by the same owner both named instigator, spelled correctly. i named my boat before i even knew the 2 other instigators existed so i did not copy the name. just trying to be different.

my motor is a 510 not a 540. i have 645tq at 5200 and about 640tq from 4900 to 5300. i will try to post my dyno runs. i was told that my imco -1 lower may be loading the prop more due to the nose cone being more efficient than a b1 lower. 700hp is at 6300. plus i almost always have a few friends on board, its pretty boring to take your boat out by yourself. i cannot say for the 28" b1 b/c bandit tested that one without me but as for the 26" mach, i got 81mph at 5800 3ppl 3/4 tank in fresh water.

baja bob, nice boat. i run anywhere between the metedeconk River and barnegat inlet. thank you for bringing a fair race also not some nonsense talk like others. 100% humble in my opinion, im just trying to have some fun and gain knowledge along the way. i ignore the negativity.

obviously that wasnt a top speed video. i cannot drive and video tape at the same time goin top speed and if i bring a buddy along they can not hold on to the camera steady enough and avoid being ejected out of the boat at over 80mph.

additionally i do not have a trailer button. my trim indicator for the drive goes from 1-7 and i was trimmed out at 7 on the indicator. i have a shorty lower and due to that i can throw a rooster tail with still staying in the trim range and not in the tilt range, mr. knowitall. i also have no cavitation at that trim angle and slightly beyond either.

yes my old post was over 20 pages of smack talkin. not much came of it b/c only 1 out of every 10 posts was sensible and the other 9 out of 10 posts were just criticisms or nonsense

bert, youre comparing how an almost 29' boat will handle the chop to a 27'boat that really only offers about 24' of its hull to the waves. lets be slightly more realistic. im sure it would be close in 1-2's anyway. btw im achieving those speeds with around 30k invested in everything.

rob, +1 for bandit performance, my engine shop used some great parts and knowledge. how much tq from your 600" ?
