If that day ever comes and yours is the silver one with arnesons, I would very much appreciate it if I was the first person you let know. I've told my wife on several occasions that I would love to own it as its absolutely perfect in my eyes.

well thats cool that you have, how about posting some video/gps recordings of you guys cruizing around at 160 ALL DAY. that is what you and arny-boy said your boat does right ?

or better yet send a camera to the lone 30 skater ob that races and see how much slower that thing is ?

also notice that blume has yet to post any response to pricing of the pics he put up. why is that ????

I just priced a new 30 Skater for a friend, fully rigged out (equal to KAP's) on a trailer, ready for customer paint (approx. $25k) and motors ($33k for the pair). Total before tax and delivery was $170,761.50. So for those that want a boat with NADA guide pricing (necessary for lending purposes) and a manufacturer that has been around for 30 years, you can get a 30 Skater that may be 16" shorter and 5 mph slower, but also save $100k in the process!

Yes, that's the one. I love it as well and have no plans to sell it, but when I do, I'll make sure I contact you for first rights to the purchase. Thanks for the kind words!

its funny how you avoid the obvious distortion here. the DW is a 32 and your pricing it agianst a 30 skater that is 5-10 mph slower. plus your so called 100k savings is without paint and motors ???? wtf!!!!!!!

as a racer and "educated" cat owner, you and i both know that the extra 2 foot of makes a big difference as soon as it gets a little bumpy. you know for instance when people drive over their heads the smaller cats are less forgiving and sometimes teach their owners a expense lesson............

this is the whole point your trying to sweep under the rug. which is that skater doesn't build anything that is as fast with OB's as the DW. you would have to compare a 32b which is built for inboards and even with a 3rd ob isn't as fast as the DW.so you have to move down to a 30, which can't handle the rough and still isn't as fast when comparing with twins.

we could also talk about how DW uses glass impregnators, SP epoxies, no polyester-based gelcoats, all highend foam coring and post cures.

you want to share what happens when you submerge a boat built with Balsa core ?????????

You might also want to get a surveyor to check it out before you buy it. Just saying..... I'm not too keen on someone coming into my thread... simply to jack it up and start his own personal agenda.

Oh perhaps Mr. Rayzor aka Skater30 can put up videos with his concours cameras of all the structural damage that occurred to his boat. Great selling point....dumb azz.

Well it seems OK if the Skater boys come into a Doug Wright thread and trash talk. I don't f'ing think so! Wheres your boy he is the Skater dealer coming into a DW thread posting photos...gimme a break 32 Skater is $325 that makes a DW a bargain.

I don't know what your problem is douche bag but you need to get the flock outta my thread. I called you to find out what your problem is but you don't have the nads to speak up friggen coward. So why don't you and your minions just crawl back under the rock you came out from under!

You stalked me on my Facebook page...you did the same thing on Performance Boats Forums and now here.

I mean really why are you in this thread other than to disparge the product?

You obviously can't even perform simple arithmetic. For all of your bragging about DW's layup schedule, I've heard the print through on KAP's boat is horrible. Just wait for that boat to be a couple years old, it's going to look even worse. As for submerging a balsa cored boat, been there, done that, and my boat is as flawless as it was when it was new. For somebody that had to turn their DW upside down and change the bottom because it performed so poorly, you sure talk a lot of smack about one of the undisputed best builders in the country (Peter Hledin). I can understand your contempt for Skaters though, as there are always a lot of them in front of you on the racecourse........

I just LOVE getting you to bury yourself KAP! Do you really think anyone is going to purchase a boat from you when you respond as you do to discussion in a public forum about your boat??? You are showing colors I would not expect from an attorney. But maybe you aren't a very good attorney, and that is why you are trying a last ditch effort to provide income for yourself when you are no longer on retainer with your client soon? If you lash out in court as you lash out in these forums, I'm surprised you lasted as long as you have in the legal profession. My boat going upside down 6 years ago is common knowledge KAP, and you posting pictures of it doesn't bother me in the least. I think if you Google my name or a combination of Skater 30 Prototype/Arneson, it will bring up my accident from The Big Cat Run in '06. As for your claims of my stalking you on Facebook, they're ridiculous. I don't even have a Facebook account, and I stated previously that I had a friend that told me of your claims about your boat on your Facebook page. Get over yourself KAP, if you want all the free coverage of your boat in these public forums, learn how to deal with the positives and negatives that will be brought forth about the product you are promoting. In several of my posts I have stated what a great performing 32' outboard cat you have, but YOU and YOUR EGO are the real issue.

there wasn't any skaters in my limited racing career in P1 ?

as for the print thru, i can't speak for kap's boat but that will be the first i have heard about print thru on a DW, since he uses all epoxy primers, fillers and paints. and please lets not kid ourselves that skaters don't have this issue. i owned 2, wrenched on a 388 SC and have seen several others with print thru. its most prevalent on the decks since skater gelcoats the hulls but the decks are flat sheets cast on a table.

i remember talking to 2 different custom painters that constantly complained about skaters. they could not put the boats in ovens to cure paint without major issues. they elluded that skater used polyester body fillers and epoxy resin, which different temperature curing points. both made a practice of baking the boats in a oven before ever starting and paint work.

if memory serves me right, skater just in the last few yrs started painting his own boats and i'm still not sure if he even post cures.

skaterdave 05-13-2012 07:35 PM

damn skater30, is that a pic of your boat ?

seriously, no really, seriously how can ever be sure water didn't get into the balsa core ? did you take core samples or whats the repair for something like that.

ps, i just asked for a pic of it running 160 not taking off to Mars. WTF????

gotta say skater does build a good boat, its still floating
