Why are you so interested in what my boat or a Skater 30 outboard raceboat runs? This thread and my post are about KAP's 32 DW pleasure outboard boat, so why all the calling out of the Skaters all the time? I'm not in the boat business (never care to be) and I'm not trying to sell my boat or any outboard race 30s, so why should I go out and make videos and post them up? Trust me, if there ever comes a time when I decide to sell my boat, I will make a website with lots of pictures and videos of the boat that showcase what it can and cannot do. As for your comment that Rik and I always say we cruise around in my 30 all day at 160, please provide a link to any post where he or I said that.

cheerleading to the left cheerleaing to the right. still no video or photo or :whistle: skaterdave seems to be torn between the two himself. how much bragging can one do when they are the only one in the class. the outboard shater is obviously not competitive in that particular teams hands but look at how many different versions of the dw are being made and they still the gap to the skater doesnt really change much. i still do not see what is so special about another outboard cat. are they really a new thing.

Me personally. I think the DW's are awesome boats from a builder that is concentrating his efforts in the small OB class. Peter has not made any changes to the 28 or 30 until recently with widening the tunnel for the fat boy series. Peter has earned his reputation as one of the premier cat builders that has been around longer than any one of these guys. Bashing someone who got the CAT market where it is today is not professional nor ethical. I think that if Peter wanted to build another model 28/30 or 32 with O/B's that he thought he could sell and make money he would do it. He beleives as do i that the market for a $250-350K outboard boat is almost non existant. Kap has a really nice boat but the information on the boat has been slow coming. How do you have the opportunity to have it in Performance Boats and not publish any information on SPD/MPG through out the RPM band. I have yet to see one picture of the rigging or inside any of the compartments for storage etc. I had asked him for some and was told to fly out Havasu to come see it in person. Not a very good anwser if you want to sell boats. I think everyone on here will agree that the DW's are fast and run good. Top end numbers are what people make them. The real proof is to line them up and let it rip! He should bring the boat to LOTO and run it. Last year the best speed for a 28' Skater was 113mph. He should run his boat and see what happens for everyone to see.

I appreciate your post and agree with some of your comments. I will provide photos of all the things you requested namely rigging and the storage areas. I will also include other items you did not mention:) all on our website.

I was headed to Desert Storm for 11 days so I said come out to the Lake Havasu Boat Show and DSPR and to get a one on one tour. In addition, I would have the opportunity to meet you!

As for the magazines I was a bit dissapointed that specifications on length beam who did what etc... was not mentioned at all. When I asked... the response was it was simply an introductory article and not a comprehensive review. It made sense to me after the fact but really specifications would have been important.

The goal is to have video and additional photos up on the website for those truly interested in this boat. I agree with you on letting the boat speak for itself :).

i'm not, just that YOU and others on here point that the DW is nothing new and that the skaters still somehow are above the DW.

i merely point out the fact that when it comes to OB cats nothing is as fast or better that the DW. skater constantly points to its racing heritage, thats only true in maybe catlite currently. pete builds a great boat just that the in the 28-32 range DW is better.

After reading 14 pages I looks like the hate is toward kapp more than DW... I loved my skater and every other model Peter makes but the dw is a faster hull.

Did you not read my earlier post (#111) where I posted that the DW32 has dominated Stock class racing for the last decade? I've never said the 32DW isn't a great outboard powered offshore raceboat, and that Pete is not currently building something that beats it (which he really doesn't care, as he's building inboard boats that make him a lot more money). As for stating KAP's boat is nothing revolutionary as he has stated, I stand by it. See the attached ad for a 1988 32A Skater that runs well over a hundred with twin 300s (for under $50k!). 30'+ outboard cats running over a hundred is really nothing new. The Super Stock kilo record was 118mph over two decade ago with stock power (granted, triple 2.5/260s instead of twin 3.2/300s). I'm starting to feel like a broken record when I say that KAP's 32 DW is a great performing boat, it's just not everything he claims it to be, and it sure as hell is no big deal. He'll realize this when he sees how few he sells at $325k. And just for the record, when he keeps trying to compare his boat to a 32 Skater, he's comparing apples to oranges as the current 32B Skater that Pete is building is an inboard boat. Pete doesn't even have pricing for an outboard 32B, as he really doesn't want to build any. The 30 Skater is a much more comparable boat (at only 16" shorter) and is very similar in performance at 106mph with twin stock 300XSs. Yes, the 32DW does have a performance advantage, but to say the 32DW is revolutionary is ridiculous. If you really want to compare the DW line to Skater, how are his inboard boats doing? :D
