Default Nasty

Get a clean 55 gallon drum and a pump for the gas. Then 3- 5 gallon cans for the rest. You have to empty the tank, so save it. You shouldn't have any problem with the 50 gallon tank in terms of weight. Since this is less weight the better. The cooler liner is a good idea for the spac in the floor. Just remember to leave yourself room to get it out afterwards.

hey nasty habit, you might want to switch that volvo drive to a transom pick up.

I take it thats a speedmaster drive?
if it isnt where can I get a lower unit like that?
I want a cone lower unit for my new drive.

From what I have heard the volvo drives have air leak problems for the water intake.

I had a water intake problem on my boat for 1 full season and a 1/4 of this season. I almost toasted my motor so many times because of it ( I built my motor so it has sentimental value)as soon as I installed my pick up problems went away.

I just wanted to add to this post...

if you do switch to a 55 gallon tank you are going to move the weight FORWARD in your boat..

there will be more mass further forward in the boat with a full tank then with your 70 gallon tank, I think?

ahh what do I know.

Beerock ...haven't had any water pickup probs as of yet ....i thought about doing that though ...tooo late now ..well never too late but I'm done with that part of it ....I'll have to keep a close eye on the gauges...

that was my concern.....losing the 20 gallons towards the stern...although the cooler would always be full of ice and whatever our frosty beverage of the day was....kinda hard to figure the weight dif there....i could add some wieght in it;'s place though i guess.....

stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't cut that boat..yer gonn ruin it!!!

Don't you have two coolers on each side of the engine...yeah, I know, they're a pain in the ass, but I think cutting that boat up may detract from it's value later...just my .02
