Yeah, the salt is what's making me worry a little about going the drilled route. I normally launch and pull the boat in freshwater (even if the boat is used during the day in salt, but for the very rare time that I don't, I don't want to worry about corrosion issues.

Then again, it's starting to sound like having the holes drilled in the tubes is the overall safer and potentially "lighter" way to go since water seems to find a way mirgate in over time and freezing is a certainty in this area.

No. He actually just stripped the powdercoat off to have it redone and the platform looks great!
