When did this OL go down?

I missed this when it happened. What's the back-story? Someone forget to put the plug in before the show?

LaughingCat 02-10-2012 05:16 PM

I'm gonna guess, new boat, first overnight splash. Drive housing not sealed perfect.

Who has the answer?

Spine Tingler 02-10-2012 06:11 PM

I think there's way to much Censorship on this site . We are in America " I think "

Catastrophe 02-10-2012 07:35 PM

The boat was called Candy Shop and was sold to a Canadian through a Canadian dealer.
He hadn't taken final delivery of it....and when that happened he refused to.
There was a lot of unsubstantiated crud about why it happened which never got resolved and the boat was taken back to the builder and reworked .
Some thought that it ended up overseas.

Ridiculous!

I guess the price of a boat does not equal intelligence??

Sad to see but come on. Forgot the drain plug?

Catastrophe 02-10-2012 07:58 PM

Was that what it was ? The drain plug ?

PARADISE ISLAND 02-10-2012 08:07 PM

glassdave 02-10-2012 09:27 PM

Wasnt there a rumor that someone tossed a running hose in it or something?

Awesome boat though. The big gtx's are one of my favorites

nate 02-10-2012 11:25 PM

I was not around then but it reminds me of the DCB 35 that rolled, that thread is "hush hush" with no pics. Funny how things work around here.

Either way, sad to see such a beautiful boat under water!

f_inscreenname 02-11-2012 12:29 AM

Could you imagine walking down the dock to that?

GOFSTCAT 02-11-2012 12:29 AM

read the thread hole in ss waterline from pickup seen it with my own eyes ,put my hands on it !

Any time anything "bad" happens to a boat this site (and others) want to cencer it. I guess it's because no one wants to display a boats mis-fortune and some have "pull" on this site and others.

Bottom line is if a boat was sunk, flippled, rolled or anything else you'd think "hope" that the owner would be honest about it's history even if it was just something stupid like this (at the dock).

It is what it is.....Hopefully a boats history is fully disclosed. I can tell you I wouldn't hesitate buying this piece of work _ or any other - just because it saw some water at the dock. But I'd run from an owner that tried to lie about it because who knows what else they're hiding.

My theory is; sh!t happens....

Hard saying, Don't see anywhere in the ad that states it was sunk.

haven't been here for very long and didn't think that censorship for things like this was that prevalent but I have come to notice things going POOF and it's just like anywhere else in life I guess... it's who ya KNOW and who ya  ...well you know the rest :party-smiley-004:

I think it is.
It went to LCM and was rumored to have gone oversees.
Perhaps it didnt.

What would salt water do to that power and electrical wiring after being submerged for that time ?
Cant tell who the current owner of the boat is.

Does anyone know ?

Look for the guy who just got done puking after reading this thread.

Beautiful boat though!

Catastrophe 02-11-2012 07:15 AM

I dont know where its best in advertising something that has sunk as far as declaring same.
You either put it in the original ad or you declare it verbally.

Under PRICE in the ad it says to CALL, so one can presume thats when the seller will declare the fact.

Thats IF it is actually the same boat.

must have been a hell of a hole in the line...what size line and how big of a hole????

drpete3 02-11-2012 09:19 AM

Saaw this yesterday. Made me sick

offshoredrillin 02-11-2012 09:28 AM

I'd be a little more concerned as to why the boat was filled with fresh water while sitting in salt water... things that make ya go hmmmmm.

Don't need much of a hole in a water intake line to sink a boat overnight. Take a look at the size of your intake hose sometime, at least twice the size of a garden hose and three times the size of a drain plug hole.

skate 02-11-2012 10:30 AM

Even Outerlimits have limits:lolhit:

GOFSTCAT 02-11-2012 12:52 PM

small hole 1/8 inch maybe ,2 ss lines laying over eachother rubbed through dont take long to kill the batts ,once the aft vents reached water level it was all over

pm203 02-11-2012 01:33 PM

Would this be due to a improper rigging ?

Jamie B. 02-11-2012 03:01 PM

Where's that guy Dan that works for Outerlimits ? Seems like he jumps in on every Outerlimits thread, I'm sure he could clarify this one for us..

Sydwayz 02-11-2012 03:18 PM

Why would 2 lines rub together in a boat that was on static display?
