I will get in line for my beating next.
Rough water, the real deal.
Cigarette
Donzi
Black Thunder
Nortech
Sunsation
AT
Formula
Scarab 33 or bigger
Fountain, great boat but in big water 35' or bigger.

and so on down the list. I have rode most listed above.
Best bang for the buck new is a Sunsation, used I would say Cig or Donzi.

Lots of great boats out there, we are in our 2nd Donzi and targeting a Cigarette someday. Buy the best you can afford and at this point in my life used (of the above) surveyed and good engines is better than new.

Happy hunting and good luck on finding the boat for YOU!
Bryan

PS.... Check out our website and join our club on our Poker Run the 1st wekend in August... on the Bay and ocean....

I HAVE OWNED CIGARETTE'S FOR THE PAST 11 YEARS, NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THEM, ALWAYS BEEN A SOLID BOAT. THEY HAVE HELD THE VALUE WELL. I AM SURE THE OTHER BOATS YOU MENTIONED ARE GOOD, BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THEM.
I COULD SEND YOU SOME PICS OF A 1997 AND 2000 TWIN STEP

LET ME KNOW IF I CAN HELP

I would also check out the 38 or 42 Sonic. A very good bang for the buck.

The biggest cabin you will find(besides black thunder), very spacious and layed out nicely.
Superb rough water boat, definetly one of the best.
And money wise, compare it, you will like the results.
Classic "lines" if you like that kind of look.
And it looks good with an arch(and without) if you like that kind of thing.
Noteworthy though, it will be a few miles per hour slower than your Cig, Donzi etc. but unless you want 100mph it might be a good one to look at, factoring in price, amenities etc.....

A little advice, there is sooooooooo many out there, as you know, take your time and look at/ride in every one you can and dont jump into one fast when you are tossing around that kind of money. Best wishes.

Mark

Frank,
Ask a few members on the board if it is worth giving me a call. I am confident you will find that I have put together some "Very Good" deals in the recent past. I am in the area and can meet up with you to give you a "Non Dealer" opinion of what boat may be best for you. I will be around late afternoon tomarrow and can meet up with you at Lido or DSM or wherever. I look forward to speaking with you. Give me a call after 3:00. I have a list of boats that I have recently flown all over the country and lookied at.

Well, my thoughts of course are going to lean towards the Donzi. Mostly for the ride, resale, and cabin size. In the 38 you have 6'3" head room and it is still a fun boat to drive....

Just my .02

By the way, Has any one else heard that Scarb closed its doors last week??

Another really nice boat to take a good look at is the PowerPlay. They are out of Ft Lauderdale and have a new 38 that is absolutely awesome.
