how do I know if I need a new gimbal bearing (trs drive/borg warner trans)
I am freshening up the drives on my boat and am ordering new trim position sensors, indicator cables, hydraulic trim lines, etc
The boat was meticulously maintained, but I have no idea when this stuff had been serviced or gone through. the boat worked perfect in the water last summer, and not sure if its worth the extra hassle to have the gimbal bearings replaced
thanks

when it locks up and heats up so much while your running that your driveshaft snaps and blows through your bellows, then the boat starts sinking. Atleast thats when I replaced mine........

If the drives off and you have no idea if the bearing has ever been replaced, replace it. Its not an item you can replace with the boat in the water how about the bellows?
