Funny Business National Liquidators auction SCAM
Last week i was putting a bid in on a Doug Wright at National Marine Liquidators. I was told it was a US Marshal sealed bid, no reserve auction.
I sent an Email requesting a bid form. Someone called me and emailed me a bid form. I was told the auction was over at 4:00 PM sharp. Before i got to my office, i spoke to a few people that origionally told me about the boat and the auction. I was told that they heard the high bid was $72k. I asked how that was known since it was a sealed bid auction. I was told the sales guys from National all call their customers and let them know what's going on. At 3:30 I called my buddy and he said the bidding was up to $80k. I went to my office, got the bid form that was sent to me and I sent a bid in for $85k. At 5:00 I got a call from my buddy that said he heard the high bid was $85k. I was pretty excited thinking I had the high bid. I called the guy i spoke to and he wasn't in. I never heard back fom National until yesterday. The guy I origionally spoke to called me and said they decided to re-do the auction and the bidding starts at $85k and do I want to place a bid. I asked him what happened friday?? He said he didn't know. I asked him when the bidding was over today. He said the deadline was an hour and 20 minutes ago but he could take my bid. WTF??? I told him I wasn't interested in bidding. I heard the boad sold in the low $90's. This whole thing is so fishy!!!!!! |

Those people are all shady there. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't care what they have or how good a deal it seems to be, I will not do business with them ever. Everyone there can eat poop!

I won't bore everyone with my story. Let's say it is VERY similar but the names and $$$ were changed.

8-10 years ago I used to buy cruisers to clean/use/re-sell and got a couple from them. Looking back there was 1 or 2 deals that fell through that could have been a little fishy but I didn't think much about it at the time. Over the last 3 years I've seen enough of these posts to realize there must be something going on down there (too much smoke, gotta be some fire).

there are no secret bids the salesmen all want to make the sale so they all tell the clients what every body else is bidding. Or they do it on purpose to push up the prices.
