Big fan of the old Switzers and their history. As a kid on my parents cruiser there was a guy (old enough to own one) w/a Switzer V w/a V-4 JohnRude on it that was the fastest thing around at the time.
Sold the STV because driving it at a 100 was like watching paint dry. I prefer to earn my rewards
Liking the older V's you might like the new test mule. Should run 110 easily once sorted and at least a buck twenty w/everything perfect. We live 2 mls from a ramp on the Intracoastal and my idea is every couple wks or so I chunk it in 1st thing on the morning (no wake or traffic), strap on a vest and light it up. 30 mls north to Melbourne for breakfast and a pot of coffee. Head home for another 30 mls of frustration relief and I figure I'm good for a couple more wks.

Here's a link to a 101 pass w/the old red motor. That was w/the motor 2" bellow the bottom. That boat had an easy 110 in it w/more time. That boat was particularly gratify as all the experts said I was nuts for attempting to do it w/a John Rude. If it had had hydraulic steering you could have mixed a drink at a 100. Once dialed, it retired unbeaten.

Here is the engine I did for my Pachanga 22. Bored .060 over, vortec heads, big cam, and all the fun. All paint (high temp enamel)

And the boring old 500EFI in my Heat.
