Anyone watching the Big D 500?

People were giving their tickets away yesterday when leaving... Im not surprised if they are just letting people in. I have been working in Daytona for a few weeks now and the rain was nasty yesterday and earlier today.

Juan PROBLEM Montoya just slammed into a jet dryer.... I have never seen that happen before...... Looked like a mechanical problem, but WOW. Now the Jet Dryer is on fire burning up the track..... THis has been one freaky week at Daytona...

That Jet Fuel fire is going to ruin the track.... Since it is past the half way point, I would not be shocked if the race is called now......... Asphalt and high temp fires = melted race track.........

Man, I just flipped the channel over and saw them hosing down the jet dryer. I'm like, WTF is going on?
Freaky is right.

Since the heat goes up, I suspect that track damage will be minimal. Track operators are usually concerned about fuel dissolving the binders in the asphalt, but they got water on that pretty quick. Just a he!! of a mess right now. That is the wildest thing I've seen in 34 years of racing. Hope the truck driver's neck is OK.

That was on He11 of a hit the truck took... To get rear ended only driving 5 MPH and to get hit by a race car traveling well over 100 MPH. OUCH! Just heard they transported the truck driver to the hospital "for further evaluation". Probably a good case of Whiplash.....

What dumb ass commentator said "they could just drive it down off the track if anyone was brave enough" ?
Are you fooking kidding me?!?!? That was 200 gallons of fuel plus what was in the truck, probably burning at 2000+ degrees, AND the tires were already burned off. Had to be DW.
The bubbas never cease to amaze me!
