Default Display Monitors in Cockpit?

I am installing a new Garmin 4208 in my Comp in the center of the dash (where the indicators are now and moving them down). In front of the driver (me) is an outdated Lowrance 320. I want to put either a monitor or a smaller GPS that ties into the main GPS in that spot. It is roughly 5.5"hx7" wide. A 7" monitor (like they use in car headrests) would fit perfectly. I know it should be sunlight viewable (bright enough and/or transflective).

What have some of you used or seen?
What are all the ones in the MTI, Skater, etc. seat backs and dashes?

Looking for ideas and don't want to drop another $500+ on a GPS, thanks.

P.S. - The boat lives most of its life on the trailer and off the water and the dash is fairly well protected with the 1/4 canopy.

I just want to know if they will hold up to the pounding and are visible. I can get a high res, super bright monitor for under $100. Just was wondering if it holds up. For a $100 it would be worth trying and even if it breaks, wouldn't be that big a loss....relatively speaking.... (20 gallons of gas at the raising rate! )

Tommy, we put 2 in the SRX, $250 for the pair, in head rests, with DVD players behind the screens. They didn't break with the kids beating on them.... they should hold when Pete needs his nap.

What are you going to use it for?

If you look at the picture of the dash, the new GPS is going in the center (where the indicators are now). It has video out to feed into other units or monitors. In front of me is the out dated Lowrance that I want to replace with a monitor. Also, both the GPS and monitor will take video input from the Go-Pro camera This will let me have GPS in front of me or the video feed.

Tom,
I am working with a company to build LED Highbright waterproof displays about 8". They will have 3 inputs. 1VGA and 2 NTSC Video. This way you can have the GARMIN feed it as well. We keep you guys posted as I personally have not found anything really good that is waterproof and you can see in the sun.
