You can get long life out of both kind.Not with crazy horsepower BUT the Main thing you MUST have GOOD ALIGNMENT.NOT CLOSE BUT RIGHT.Seen people ruin a coupler in 10 hours.Just my 2 cents JOHN SR

Merc says you should run the long snout steel one on HP engines, it is the superceded part number for all HP applications.
