How does this boat handle in the ocean? I live on the east coast of Florida and mostly will be going offshore along the coast of Ft. Lauderdale. The waves never get too big around here but sometimes there are big swells.

As long as you have the weight in the right place she should be a dream, also you might want to go with the big tabs level(not aligned with the bottom of the hull). Which hull # do you have?

I dont have the boat yet. I am very seriously considering buying one. Do you have experience with these boats in rough water?

I don't have any personal experience running a 26 Scarab out in the ocean & don't want to get off subject, but if your looking at Greg's boat out of GA I can assure you she's been in good hands with him !! He's quite fanatical about his stuff.. I've not talked to Greg in a little while, but I'll say from experience that you won't find a better guy to deal with anywhere !!

Again I do apologize for getting somewhat off topic of your question, but when I seen this I thought I couldn't resist passing on what I knew.. Considering most all of us have dealt with our share of b.s. throughout the years, I just wanted to take a minuet and shed a little light for whatever it's worth and say you that won't find any of that with him...;)

That was my thought also, and I believe that is Trents(F1-00) old boat.

Totally agree about Greg, and the boat. Yes that boat (hull #6) that Greg has, I had with my partner Jim as a new boat back in 2000-2001.

I ran her off of Sebastian(2-4's) a few times but mostly in the ditch around the Melbourne area when I had her. Once we were denied by APBA, LLC to race her due to homogolation, we decided to move in a different direction and get a boat we could actually race. The Alehouse Scarab(hull #1) finished 2nd in the country out of 23 in F1 so I would say it is up there with some of the best in all kind of water conditions.

When I was able to put both boats side by side, the only difference was the tab configuration. Like I said above, with no cabin, you will need to add weight and find the right balance after that enjoy the fun.

It is the #6 boat that I am looking at, actually I looked at it. Greg's a great guy.

Which ale house boat had the lid, and I believe back to back config? There is a photo of that boat hanging in the Boca Alehouse.

Ran next to one. We where in a 38 fountain and he was sitting wright next to us in real 1-2 foot slop with a occasional 3 footer at 60 mph. I was verry impressed I think its for sale to.
