What's wrong speed girl? You need some help regulating some of the nonsense? Kick me a spare key to the castle, I'll put the smack down! :nhl_fight::grinser010:

I love her. I love the sport. I love to boat. I love to be a boat btch. I love working on boats. I love cleaning boats. I love towing boats. I love racing boats. I love helping Andy with safety. I love boating.

Wish people would practice a little more "do unto others" philosophy. Would make our job a lot easier.

Men need definitely girls like Speedy.... ;)
Keeps us on the course and on focus :cartman:

I see some of the posts on here think my original comments were directed at the mods.
Hardly.

I consider Speedy a good friend of mine and if you reread my comments I said that she and the mods do a good job on here.

If you go back to other posts of mine you will see that my feelings regarding that have been consistent for some time.

My point was that the Tone of this place hasnt changed since the Good Old Days ( whatever that is and whenever that started and ended ).

I also see Racegirl misread my comment re boat ownership and the right to post on here.

My comment was in defence of the builders and sellers of marine product on OSO. On many many occasions I have seen either a builder or someone else who works in this industry offer a boat or product and get stupid comments directed at it from people on here that I know who have never owned a boat.

I know you dont have to have owned a Lambo to voice an opinion about its price or its shape or whatever.
But , if you havent dreamed of buying a boat and scrimped and saved to get it, if you havent done without other things in life to keep it, if you havent fixed it, washed it, hauled it, shared its use with friends, payed for the gas, bought a truck to pull it, babied it in winter storage and finally....loose money big time when you trade it or sell it...............you arent a boater .......so some of the opinions on here by people that absolutely dont know what they are talking about nauseates me.And bumming rides with others, doesnt undo my point.

I stand by my Vanilla comment as posted.

With regards to why I posted in the first place......if you dont understand why someone is saying something to us here, you go look to see who that person is.......so if you dont know who JUCO is you go look at their other posts. If you do that in this specific instence you will see that JUCO is a techy.

You would have to be a mind reader to know that Speedy posted her TONE comment under someone elses screen name.

AND Speedy has told me to go Phuck myself on more than one occasion, both on here and by email, so I'm not offended.

Forgetaboutit ;)

I've never owned a Lambo either... I've wrenched race Lambos and powerboats and raced them among others.

I'd say I'm personally qualified enough in that department.

Thenagain why has OSO seemed to lose some steam ?
Well one thing is.. the old days are coming back (i.e. true endurane racing).
Old and new boats race against each other, especially in Europe! Old records are shattered and in the same old hairytales turn more mundane. Nothing to Brag about anymore especially if you do not have a single offshore trophy to back it up and just own an old boat with racing history. Kudos for people owning such is just what you write about, the spending of stupendous money just for a passion, let's not take away anything from those either but on the other hand all Hail to those who still race these old boats and risk their lives... and with success even. The Good Old Days are here people, we live it once again!!

PS. We need Girls Like Speedy, Dawn, Dee, Reese and Lucy, I'm not sure If I've ever met Speedy but all could grab my (raceboats) wheel If I hold the Stick(s), or be more than glad to have their hand in a team I'm in ;)

Nope, Sunkin and Serious was a product of people feeling like the "Old Days" were gone and wanting to rekindle that. It may have emphasized it or strengthened the feeling but the tenor had already changed. In my mind it came from a few things, but one was the loss of community. While Steve S. grew the site exponentially he was also starting the decline of the personality of the site. For me it was always summed up very easily, at one point there was a very real possibility that you would be face to face with anyone on the site. So people acted accordingly and even though there were fights and banter and razzing, and all that, there was an underlying friendliness about it and some restraint. There were also many acts of true friendship between the more active members that made the place very attractive to newcomers because they could see the decency of most of the people on here (it's still here, but gets covered by all the internet bravado).

The band of pseudo internet experts/investigators/lawyers etc seems to have increased within OSO since the Sunkin episode and endlessly attempt to state opinion as fact on every thread containing the slightest controversy.
