I used Scott & Susie from Dreamtime Transportation. Got them thru Uship. They are on the Shipping Wars TV show.
They brought my boat from CA to NY and were great. Price was cheap and they got it done on time, called me every day to tell me where they were and their ETA.
Could not be happier.
Used them again to get my Ilmor from KY to NY.
Very reasonable, and they are fully insured.
I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

I do too... I never thought this would be a problem. I don't see what the big deal is? The boat will have a motor in about 4 weeks.

I signed up for USHIP. I also have a few other people checking insurance for me.

I have done exactly what you wish to do, plus needing to have the trailer and hull insuranced while at a vendors location (not trusting them and the level----or lack of-----insurance limits).

Call World Wide Marine 800-339-1235 They can explain the details. You DO need to completely insure the "completed" boat with them when you are finished. At least for one term.

if you know what motor is giong in it, insure it as such!

Hiring a shipping co will cover it while being towed. But, what about after it's home? He will want to make sure that it's covered against fire, theft, etc. His homeowner's may cover it but I would want to make sure.

That sounds the easiest.
