Obviously this guy is pushing junk but I have always been intrigued by the possibility of an electric SC. Could it be done with multiple stages of high powered electric blowers? In conjunction with an alternator cut-out switch you could have zero parasitic drag for short periods. It just seems to me it could be done but not with a $10 window fan. We'e be talking about some seriously powered electric motors.

Seriously, study the horsepower that is consumed by a screw type or centrifical supercharger at lets say 4-8 psi boost and you will quickly understand why electric superchargers with that type of demand would be highly impracticle.

Now on the other hand if someone could come up with more efficient muffler bearings or alternator flux capacitors, then you would really have something!

My merc outboards only have 2 cycles instead of 4 ..... would I get twice as much boost ? :p

You're absolutely correct...the muffler bearings are the hot setup. I used them when I rebuilt the suprechargers on my boat. BIG difference!

Problem is I only had enough money to use them on the port engine. Now the boat has the nasty habit of constantly pulling to the right.

Ray, you forgot about the reciprocating dingle-arm which helps reduce sinusoidal deplenaration.
