Insurance?????

Soi called my ALlstate guy that i have EVERYTHING with. they are always super nice. BUT the quote i got for a Baja 342 was RETARDED $1450 a year.

boat us---$1500
Progresive---$1498

geiko, $650......

anyoe else have good luck with gieko?

Sydwayz 03-22-2012 11:19 AM

$1450 is not THAT bad.

Were all of the policies apples to apples comparisons on coverage?

Call your Allstate guy back and have him work it a bit. Use the Geico quote to work him down if you can. If you have a Personal Liability Umbrella Policy, he may have been configuring the boat policy so it fits under that coverage as well. Third party quotes may not have had that done as such. There is way more to insurance than the price of the premium.

Try Wake Zone Insurance. I am very happy with the rate they gave me for my first cat.

Hmm, does sound high. I think I paid Progressive around $1K/yr for my '02 PQ 340 with HO's; through World Wide Marine. That was with agreed value too.

What year boat and what motors?

It does not sound bad or far off the mark. You may be able to save a another $200/250 depending on a couple of factors. But it's in the ball park.

I agree. Not bad at all for a REAL boat insurance policy. Call Wakezone.

What was your insured value on the boat? Trailer? What are your deductibles? Do you have a PLUP and if so, what minimum coverages does it require on the boat policy?

mittens 03-22-2012 02:37 PM

60 on boat, 5 on trailer.
