I bought one to see what it is. Not going to put on a show like PerfectStorms boat, but should be ok. I also bought a wireless switch to turn them on and off, still need to pick up a waterproof quick disconnect.

You cold use the watertight M/F bullet plug connectors. Don't want too large a connector that won't fit thru the drain. But in all honesty, the lights come with an 8' wire, waterproof isn't a must, just keep the connection protected.

I leave my boat in the water all summer will this plug hold up? Are you guys using the clips, or running it to a switch. I do like the blue.

It will, the LED in completely encapsulated in Epoxy. I'm using the clips right now until I decide what color I want to use.......

will the wire hold up from removing the drain plug, the twisting on and off?? Also you said it will hold up if the boat is kept in the water all season

Probably best to have shorter leads and unplug them so they will turn when unscrewing the plug, but long enough to route up high to plug in. I don't ever have to remove my drain plug, so not an issue for me. Also have a few empty switches on the dash for acc. A lot easier to flip a switch vs raise hatch and clip on the leads.
There isn't pressure on the plug, so as long as it seals, so no reason of for it to be a problem. As with everything, anything is possible.

Be cool to have a RGB led and have it connected to a music controller.

I'd like to order one but can't decide on Blue or Green? Wonder which one would be better on Cumberland?

I wonder if they make one for the wake boats that use the huge "wing nut" style drain plug
