A good friend of ours here in Texas and a member of our local boat club, TOPPS, has a big aluminum Cougar, Pretty quick boat, and looks cool too!

Saw one after stuffing on the Cheasapeake Bay. Heard the company will not help out. (BRAND NEW). Also walked acrossed a friends deck and it felt like and did flex in. 26 AO with big power.
Good Lake boat could not handle the Bay.

Smile Won't help out?

We were there within 2 days of the accident and offered a new boat at cost to help out. It was clearly a stuff and driver error as stated by witnesses, police reports, and the coast guard. I thought it was pretty big of us to make the offer when it was not necessary. It was not new. Again, we tried to help, but they wanted it for free and it was not the boats fault (other than being 26' in 6' waves) which caused the stuff.

AO gets my vote for building a great boat. Scott and his crew are very professional.

If I didn't own my Skater I would have a 26 AO, Does anyone know how they run with outboards?

Probably alot like the 25' Talon.

Dominated before Skater came along?
Huh? Skater was around long before AO.

"Dominated before Skater came along"

I believe this reference was to the AO 31 hull design, which was originally the George Linder designed Shadow and then the Chris Cat. These were around before Skater.

We have a customer that has a pair of 300L Mercs (less hp than the 300X) and he tells us that it runs about 111. I would think that the X's would run a little faster. Skatermike, I have some pics, somewhere, if you would like to see them.

Cool

If you think they are only "lake boats" someone forgot to tell my 26' AO that the Atlantic Ocean off of Atlantic City NJ is "Lake Atlantic". Anyone who boats on the Jersey coast knows that the ocean only has "lake" conditions at 6 in the morning and after 8 at night. During your typical afternoon weekend boating, 3-5 footers is the norm. My boat is three years old and does not have a crack.

Thumbs up Right on Catman

You are right about the Corpus race, The water was rough but it was the holes that was the problem. The boat did pretty well considering, and of course it doesn't hurt to have a good driver and throttleman. When the big boats are complaining, you know that it is rough!
