drag boats have to back their record run up with in 1% on the same weekend of the set record so yes it takes 2 not 1 run to set a record . Bottom line they are both great records and my hat is off to all kinds of boats that go out and set the speeds. I was there the day Reggie set the v bottom record and i will never forget it. I have a problem with people saying the fastest in the world when it is in their class but not in the big picture . An offshore type of boat going 200+ is awesome but so is a topfuel hydro going 260+ difference is i would run the offshore boat at 200 , i would not get out of the electric chair to run the drag boat that fast and i used to dragrace boats.
