This isn't a "real" bass boat but a single seat Allison that is built for speed.
I've hit 2 birds at 65-75 mph in bass boats. One hit the bow right at the tip and luckily went under the boat while we were only hit with feathers. The other came across the passenger side of the boat. Unfortunately, since we were fishing, we had several rods on that side, reels down-hooks up. Damn bird hit all those hooks and got hung up. I was in the passenger seat with a bird flying like a flag a foot from my head! I grabbed the rod from flying out and after a few seconds the bird tore away from the hooks in the wind......what a mess!!!!

BTW: My dad hit the back end of a yellow jacket at 85 right in the throat......though he had been shot.

I hit a duck one time in my Laser LTV doing about 90, the duck took off went up and then turned to dive back in the water. It hit the top of the deck and went POOOOOOFFFFFFF!

Boy, it's a good think he has that safety canopy system in front of him. Oh wait, it's just the dashboard. never mind.

I dont think half the people here understand the skill it takes to keep that boat on the pad like that. Awesome

Wasted Income 04-03-2012 12:45 PM

That boat sure looked like a good handler. He wasn't working the wheel too much to keep it flying on the pad.

I agree. I have always liked, but not have experienced the thrill of driving an Allison, Hydrostream, Stoker or other hot-rod OB boat like that. It is awesome!

AB From Windsor 04-03-2012 02:06 PM

WOW!!!!!

120 MPH in a Bass boat, that is one hell of a thrill ride!

You are totally correct....you can see him working the hell out of that wheel.

IMO he's not working the wheel very much. My old Hydrostream at 80 mph was more of a handful that that boat at 120, and mine was set up right for going fast with solid motor mounts, fully hydraulic steering, hot foot, and trim on the wheel.

I've been 90 in a center steer Allison, and the driver was correcting more than this vid.

Respect to the driver, and whoever set up this boat in the vid. The glass smooth water definitely helps too :)

Wasted Income 04-03-2012 03:28 PM

Speaking of flying wacker boats on the pad...I love the Hydrostream Viper in this vid at 1:27. That is skill. :Score-101010:

No training wheels :)

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. No more calls please!

And to tell you the truth, the better you are at it, the more subtle the movements are. Yea, he's good!

Plowtownmissile 04-03-2012 09:38 PM

Jesus you made that looks like a Sunday drive. Nice driving!

is that a lanier hull?

SLT Kota 04-04-2012 07:04 AM

That is incredible! One heck of a driver with a very well set up boat!

After taking a small bird to the face at close to 60 on a seadoo, I know understand why I see guys in 80mph bass boats wearing full faced helmets.

No,my Lanier (LCB) was resting over the weekend.

This hull is a Stroker Bass Boat Hull, with a center steer.

cdaallison 04-04-2012 10:49 AM

My Allison was a dream to drive in the low 90s, smooth water makes a huge difference as does no wind. If they are set up correctly they drive great. Like riding a bike you make small corrections at the steering wheel without ever thinking about it. They are definitely a drivers boat. The record unless it has been broken recently was in an Allison by a guy named David Shook at 129 mph (two way average). Mike

Sorry.... Shook ran 116.+ for an average in 2005.

Cool,

Seems like a good guy, met him a few weeks back when he was down here. gave him and his wife a tour of the Geico facility.

[QUOTE=Boatlesss;3656076]can you rate the two boats?[/QUOTE

There is really no comparision (except for the similiar speeds with the same power) when you rate both vs each other .
The LANIER overall is superior when compared.

Handling
Ride
Ease to Drive
Versatility
Customization
