Normal to constantly run tabs unevenly?

Hey all, I have noticed that even with only myself and one other passenger with gear centered my 25 Outlaw likes to run leaning to the port side alot. I have to run with my starboard tab all the way up and the port tab at least halfway down to keep the boat level. Is this normal or could there be something else causing the lean? Thanks.

Sounds like you passenger needs to hit the treadmill :D

Do you have more batteries on the port side? Halfway down seems like a lot. In most singles it's normal to have to drag a tab just a little. Even my 303 likes a hint of port tab at WOT to settle the boat and keep it level.

Could be torque steer. On take off and other speeds its pretty common on single engine boats and just a fact of physics. Hydraulic steering would be a huge improvement in handling if you don't have it already. Could be weight. Lots of boaters and builders will move some weight over if they need to in order to help counter the torque steer if its really bad, but should never make it list to one side. Obviously check the trim tab indicators make sure their working right.

could be a prop issue, what prop are you running?

I have one battery on each side and stock steering and prop. I think it has the 3 blade mirage prop?

It's torque roll from the prop. I have to drag port tab also to level out. If it's just me it runs pretty straight, if I have a passengers I have to drag some tab.

Try a LH prop

Normal on 24/25 Outlaws and many single engine V's. It is caused by the torque and RH prop. I had a 24 Outlaw and moved the second battery to the starboard side which helped.

Also are you sure your tab is actually half way down compared to the neutral point? The middle of most indicators is actually pretty even with the bottom of the boat. Basically the tabs are not really influencing the attitude of the boat until you go below the half way point. So you may only have that tab down a little. I think most of us are picturing a tab with lots of deflection, when it may be only a little bit in reference to the running surface.

Does this make any sense?

I'm pretty sure that 2 bars on my indicator is even with the bottom and I am running say 4 or 5 bars on the port side. I have my anchor on the opposite side as well.
