Man, I remember going there all through my childhood and into my teens racing with my dad. We ran hydros and KRR flatbottoms there. Used to be a really cool place for boat racing.

They need to claim all the land around it, to block any condos from being built; the noise complaints will follow failing that.

Nothing beats going racing with your Dad. My Dad and I did Kart racing for years. This is good news for Miami. I hope they get all of the money needed.

that all sounds good and I wish them luck but I have walked all around in it at the only thing you can do is bulldoze it. I would love to see it restored but the salt has taken a toll on all the rebar in it and the concrete supports and roof structure are cracked and splitting apart. you can see major supports that are missing 50% or more of the concrete in areas and the rebar has rusted and swelled to the point that little is still holding the roof. they are estimating 30 million to restore it but you know that will double and you still will have only about 20% of the original structure. I would love to see something done and racing brought back to the bay but I think they are fighting an uphill battle. now if they could get the city to agree to let them tear it down and rebuild a new one there in the original design they could bring it for half the budget and afford to fund some races. just my $ .02 though.
