I prefer the 4v preouts of Alpine's CDE-9886M or even the non marine CDE-123.
Extra voltage sends a stronger signal to the amps so less gain is needed.

After several long talks with a trusted installer, he prefers Kenwood over Alpine because he says Kenwood's output singnal is flat but Alpine tweaks the spectrum.
The KW 350U looks like it has most of the other features I look for with 3 pair of outputs, aux input.
an additional front input would be nice but not often found on a marine unit.
I have run a non-marine CDE-9886 for 4 years in the dash over the wheel with no problem. Depending on HU placement, protection and storage practices, I dont think a marine unit is critical for freshwater.

Alpine, and Pioneers have the best ipod/iphone interface.
I have alpine (second boat with it) it works great with ipod/iphone stuff, and charges the iphone as well.
something to note the marine alpine does not, you have to buy a special cable.

with aplpine you can go throught eh ipod just like normal.
like playlist, artiste, songs, gerna.
you select what you want to look at. you click playleits, it give you al ist highlight what you want and its plays.
there are short cuts too when you click on artists, and you are in the A's and need say Led Zeppelin, you can jump through the alphabet quick too. but it works really well
plus alpine makes a flaoting waterproof remote that is RF not IR so it does not have to be in line of sight and works for about 100 foot. i can control my stereo standing on the beach. and leave remote in my swim suit.

I have 2 of these. One in my car and one in my boat and I can honestly say the sound is amazing. 4 volt preamps and both usb as well as aux inputs. Not marine but buy a flip down cover and you will be fine.
