Until someone orders one, we'll never know because Outerlimits certainly won't build and campaign a Super V Light "for the glory."

Now that the numbers are out of the way ...... ;)

Will we see a 29 OL try to compete up against this ? :evilb:

I'm not sure anyone will every really beat this boat but I'm sure at some point, you'll see a OL29 on top of the podium.

Sounds like about the same speed as an OL29 with a 525. Is the Tuff an epoxy boat? I believe the OL is.

The build sheet from Outerlimits has it at 4,850 pounds.

Nice, about 60% of most boats this size.

I really really love the numbers of the outerlimts.

But If i was in the market for a single 29V it would be the hustler. Just standing next to each boat at the miami boat show the Hustler looks like a wave crusher, fast, roomy, better looking cockpit. Just looks like more for the money.

Read on Hustler facebook that one of the 29's runs 91mph with a 700 and nxt. Not bad really. But who knows what its setup for. My guess would be all out pleasure not top speed.

No, it is a E-glass Vinylester boat. Epoxy carbon kevlar infusion and the like are all options.
I know the kelvar infused boats are A LOT lighter. The base hull is vacuum bagged.
No steps either and it is OVER 28 feet long with no swim platform. Up till now I would say for sure it was the fastest around, now I think there might be a good race between the two.

Mercury Racing "engineers?" That's putting it lightly. If I'm not mistake, Erik Christiansen, the engineering director for Mercury Racing, was on board. during the ride you detailed.

Erk and Dustin in the same boat....two of the best minds in the business...would have loved to have been a fly on the cockpit wall for that conversation....congrats to OL

My thoughts exactly......How fast was the Howard with 1100 HP???

I ran the boat with Mike Fiore for an upcoming test in the July issue of Boating magazine and saw 101 and change on my handheld GPS. I can also tell you the engine was bone stock because the rev limiter kicked in numerous times during our speed runs. I was more impressed with how well it handled in gusting crosswinds and 2' to 3' chop in Narragansett Bay. With my 11-year-old son Blake in the back seat, I drove it at 85 mph across that slop after only 5 minutes at the wheel. This would be a great poker run boat.

The Hustler is a good looking piece and fast!
