With a reported top speed of 101 mph, the next-closest entry was a Howard 28’ Bullet V-bottom powered by an 1,100-hp supercharged engine. |
Nice product Outerlimits has built.

Congrats Mike and your crew

Thats incredible, just curious why they went with the 600, arent they discontinuing that motor, my guess is because its still a bravo boat and they can target a more attractiveprice point . Hope they can keep it around 150k plus trailer and paint and i think it will be a good seller

Iirc it was quite a bit more than that. Closer or just over the $200k mark if I recall.

Wouldn't that immediately put it out of warranty?

Considering Outerlimits connection to Whipple I wonder if the motors were played with. Whipple has kits for the 600sc from Stage 1 +100hp to Stage 6 + 370hp. Either way it's a nice product Outerlimits has built.

Dont hold me to it but I think it was starting at near $200k without trailor or many custom options. , We are shopping in the $100k and I recall being disappointed cause it was no where near that cost. I will see if I can find the thread to confirm that though. Love the boat though...went Miami to see it as I was looking forward to it very much. Edit here is one here F/S $199,950 and with trailor. So guessing one ordred to your liking will be just a touch more. http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o45349-en.html |
Yes, it's just another stupid comment, the motor isn't tweaked with, they want to keep the warranty.....give them the credit they deserve...it's a great running combination.
Now I would like to see what this does with a pulley and a increased rev limiter.... |

That might be good enough for a class win at the real shootout but they are going to have to pick it up a bit come August if they want a shot at the real title ;) Look forward to seeing the boat at LOTO! |

[QUOTE=Nate5.0;3677684]There was a long thread about it after the Miami showing.

This price includes trailer, paint, painted bottom, carved carpet , upgraded stereo and other options, base price is right at 150k without all these. Which is a good price. Congratulations Outerlimits! Wow they have some amazing engineering going on over there. :drink:
I had questioned the Weird 3 step bottom (bottom is so different then any other outlerlimits) in another thread but it obviously works! I also have said this boat is very small IMO, does not look like a wave crusher. But again, obviously that helps make it fast! Super happy for Outerlimits. Glad to see more and more sweet boats in the market. We do have to wonder though if Whipple played the game "just the tip" while spooning Outerlimits in bed! :lolhit: Its all good, no hard feelings. Not surprised that its the fastest, just surprised how much faster it is then anyone else. Can anyone post some numbers of other 28-30ft singles? |
How fast is a similar sized single engine cat like an Eliminator or DCB with a 600HP? That’s Freaky Fast in a V!
|
put the 1100 in the outerlimits...
|
Great job OL. They worked hard on this boat, I remember the plug they ran last summer.
In the end it was well worth it, once again they set the bar very high for the other boat mfgrs to catch them. |

This ones pretty fast.....28ft mid 90's so the ad says, any other Vector numbers out there?
http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o42795-en.html TUFFboat.....I meant any other single I/O V bottom 28-31ft with similiar HP. I personally have not seen or heard of any other boats running over 100mph with only 600hp. |

The 2012 in the classifieds is ours. I ran it on a busy Saturday on LOTO the day Mike Fiore delivered it to us. We ran down the main channel at mid 90's for almost 10 miles. One of the most fun rides I have been on in a long time! I am going to bond with the boat this Saturday for the Spring Harbor Hop also on LOTO, its going to be almost 90 all weekend!!!

Is the OL 22 or 24 degrees?
|
What would be a similar twin engine setup to the 600 package and what would it run with like twin 502hos at 860 total hp? Ol builds vee bottoms that are as fast or faster than catamarans
|
All I can say is 102 MPH or 101 MPH, Mike Fiore and the OL Team did a great job on the OL SV29. Congrat's!

Is that 28 wide open with a 740motor seems a little slow.

We've done a bunch of 25 and 26 with 496's and SC's, roughly 600-625 and they go low to mid 90's. |
Dustin, is your 43 completed yet, which 43 model is it
