I'd say it would be a wash assuming equal power and drives. The Mistress is wider, but I would bet the weight would be about the same on both boats. Either one will take some monster horsepower to be fast by today's standards. Either boat will handle the rough stuff with ease.

No personal experience with the Mistress, but I have rode on, driven and towed my buddies 357 SR1. The Formula is indeed a heavy hull. On trailer it is just a little under 15k pounds. The trailer is a Eagle steel tripple axle trailer. The ride on it is good. He has twin 454 that were modified by a previous owner and he is probably in mid 60's for top end. I want to say the motors were estimated around 500 horsepower??? I dont know if its typical for that hull or just the one he has but once on plane, the boat tends to sit from one side to the other. You really have to use the tabs to keep it level. Hope this helps you out a little.

1985 Mistress with 675HP Naturally aspirated, 4 blade bravo 1 (24 pitch). Konrad drives spinning about 78 GPS. couple of ticks in either direction for speed. I owned one for 4 seasons.

Great riding boat, rode flat and landed perfect. Perfect Balance!

You're right. I was having a brain fart. Don't the old 36s have a big beam? Or am I just making all this up :lolhit:

The hulls and weights are almost identical. All things being equal they would probably be within a mile an hour.
