I have to say a trip like this takes big, big balls. To do it again, only a year after running into really bad weather out there, should make everyone question your sanity!

How about an update? It's been 2 1/2 months since this was announced. Just wondering if it is still in your plans. Summer is definitely the time for a marathon run like this.

We are still waiting for the right weather for the run. Believe it or not, we haven't had a single weather window yet this year. We have spooled up about five times over the last 2 and a half months, only to stand down as the forecast fell apart a day or two out. In the last few weeks, the weather patterns have been calming down so we hope to have the weather we need soon. As you know better than almost anyone, you can't force this kind of endeavor.


Paul - you are right, as long as the tropics remain calm, August is statistically the best weather month in the North Atlantic.
