New York to Bermuda World Record Attempt - Take Two
Ok everyone, its almost time for another New York to Bermuda World Record attempt. As you may recall, during our last World Record attempt we ran into a nasty squall while crossing the North wall of the gulfstream which forced us to tuck our tail and retreat back to the safety of Indian River Inlet Delaware.
With winter behind us, we have prepped our Mercury TDI powered 37' air ride equipped Statement Marine center console and will take another shot at the title once we get the right weather window which could be a few days or a few weeks.
We made a few adjustments to our setup over the winter including re-working our streaming video system so you can watch us live during our run on Boating Magazine's website at www.boatingmag.com/bermudachallenge.
If you are in the New York area when we take off, come down to Liberty Landing Marina to cheer Nick Buis (Owner of Statement Marine), Mike Anderson (Owner of Performance Outboards and Machine) and myself off as we head 780 miles offshore in pursuit of the Bermuda Challenge record.
For our Bermuda friends, stop down to meet us upon our arrival at the Customs dock in St. Georges or at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Yacht and Dinghy Club where we are going to be tied up.
