Dave-First to the card stop means exactly what it sounds like -the same as it has been in the previous 13 years. The first boat to receive cards was Predator-no dispute. The first to blow by the card boat was the DCB followed by CRC.It is what it is.

I'll apologize in advance for being off topic but...
We were there and watching the fast boats. We were clearly off to the side watching as spectators approximately 100 feet from the shore and rocks. I was not afraid of the "bullets" but...
One of the dam "SAFETY" boat idiots ran right up on us and he was watching the "RALLY" so much so that I had to literally yell and wave my arms to get him to miss our boat. We were at flat idle speed and he was probably running around 25 - 30 mph before he got within approx 10 to 15 feet of our boat.
Everything is dangerous and everyone is an idiot once they do something stupid.

As far as speeds on poker runs, its not the guys running who make that call. The Support the Troops poker run at Lake of the Ozarks draws a lot of nice/fast boats but governing body at the lake has an imposed speed limit for poker runs. I believe its 60mph.
Some promoters do poker runs so that the big dogs can show what they've got and choose where to hold them based on what the location/rules are. Other promoters do them for charities or just to get people out on the water and give the local businesses a boost. In my eyes, there is nothing wrong with either as long as no one gets hurt. Happy and safe boating everyone.
