Jumping waves trouble!

I just got done with my cigarette bullet project it has 23 pitch 3 blade prop. And when I jump it (props out of water) I pull back on the throttle until the boats back in the water and no mater how fast or slow I push them down as soon as I do it the rpm goes up to 6,000 ad in not just the guages you can hear the motor scream so I have to stop and plain out again. Does any one know what it could be do I need bigger props??? The boat had these props before I owned it..
Thanks
Brett

Can't imagine that pitch being so far off for that boat. Maybe a 4 or 5 blade would be better or possibly a larger dia prop. That's alot of boat for a 3 blade.

that three blade is pretty worthless for any performance application. You need B1's minimum, could also be much of your problem.

Yea, those 3 blades probably run faston the big end, but they dont bite like a 4 blade. I would be looking at B1's for the boat. You will pick up some mid rande, and have a lote more bite in the water.

I had a scarab do the same thing years ago, went to 4 blades problem solved.

my hawk did this the other day with the bravo 1's but my x is too high causing a fair amount of slip %

Brett, My old 32 BT with 3 blades would blow out all the time. Switched to 4 blade Bravo 1s and problem went away. A lot of these boats had high x dimension to run the number but it made it hard not to blow out with 3 blades. The 3 blades were faster though on top end. Hope this helps.

More blades will probably fix your problem, But, Instead of pulling back all the way while your in the air, try to keep the motors & Props at the speed they need to be to re-enter the water smoothly. Like pulling back half way. this will let your drives live alot longer as well. I raced offshore using 3 blade Mirage props with a high X dim (Before B1's came out) and didn't have a problem as long as my prop speed was consistant with the boat speed on re-entry.

+1. Sounds like he may need a little more seat time in rough water. I'm running old mirage 3 blade props with no problems. A 4 or 5 blade is also going to be harder on drives on re-entry.

He's got more rough water seat time in boats than you do on your toilet.
