There are tons of pictures online, boats, scenery, you name it. In each and every one of them, Jay proves time and time again that everyone can take a picture, but having that special Eye is the game changer. I know there's lots more to it than that, but the natural artistic ability is something that can be seen in almost every shot.

One thing Jay does is keep it simple. Complicated, busy scenes, even action ones, are reduced to their most important focal element in his shots. As I look at my own busy photos, I know it's a hard thing to do. I may never get it, but Jay does. he also takes the best bikini babe shots, so what's not to like?

Vsteve is so right when he says, "There are tons of pictures online, boats, scenery, you name it." There are so many, in fact, that the truly great ones tend to get lost in the many good ones.

That's kind of what Image of the Week is about on speedonthewater.com, finding one great image and showcasing it. High-performance powerboating is fun and a rush and more—all good things—but it's also can be incredibly beautiful.

So the best images need to be savored one at a time.

Many of us have been lucky enough to remember Jay's pics when he first joined OSO. He was really good then, but now there are no superlatives that haven't been used to describe his work. I hope he will publish his beautiful pictures in book form one day.
