Default Need Help 86-Formula 272ls

I Just rebuilt the small block 350 in my boat. They are bored 30 over. The carbs are loading up and need to be rebuilt. Instead of installing the stock rochester quadrajets Would you go to a holly or like manufacture?

They are like anything else......dodge or ford.....nike or addidas. Holley is a good carb, i run edelbrock 1410's on my mild sbc's. So its just pick your poison!

I have run Holley carbs all my life and had a 750 vacume secondary on my last boat with a 454mag and had no problems for three years but only use good quality fuel. They do tend to leak if they sit dry and the gaskets dry out due to the bowl cofiguration and I have had about 50% succses with them sealing after the gaskets rehydrate with fuel but have also had to replace many gaskets .I would use a holley and run it often enough to keep the gaskets wet.The Edlebrock carbs work well also and do not have the leak issue so if you are not handy with carb rebuilds it may be the way to go.Never liked the quadrajet as they leak internally and that is why you may be loading up,they drip and flood the motor when sitting after a run but dry out when sitting for a while and then have to crank and get fuel back in them to start
