G-NOTE, deep down in your soul, you really want a 28 Donzi ZX or a 29 Fastech with twin 6.2's.
The 6.2 [377cu] would be my choice over the 350 Mags. Find one with Scorpions would even be better. There was a 28 Donzi with Scorpions in the classifieds not long ago, in your price range. My boat without steps does 76 mph with twin 6.2 black engines [ 640 prop HP ] .Adding Whipples to either boats you'd be in the high 70's low 80's . Wish I had your pain choosing what boat to get, lol.
See if this one negotiable for an even lower price.http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o41131-en.html
This one has room to grow later to upgrade with a couple of 425HP 383's.

As far as looking for a boat goes, my original budget got cut in half after selling my baja because of a custody battle for my oldest daughter, but it was worth every pennie!!!
DEFINATELY not looking at NEW!
