A lot of people are so upside down on their boats they cant take a reasonable offer they have to ask insane prices hoping someone as crazy as them comes along and takes it off their hands.

Not sure whats being pointed out here... ?
It certainly is not wrong if an individual can buy low and sell high, or at least sell above what he/she bought an item for.
Just because people know what was paid for an item, doesnt make it worth less if the market supports more.

And...?
If they got deals then great. After that they can ask whatever they want. Boat production is stagnant so if you want a pretty much new 38 sit down offshore with 700's you can pay the price if you want to. Compared to a new boat even mid 200's seems like a deal to me considering the engines/drives alone have to be 175k at cost.
Some of us are in different 'boats' that is described here. I got a great deal on my ZXO, mainly because I was in the right place at the right time. We love the boat so much that I'd like a slightly different model boat which would support our new boating style better... a Formula SS. A new 290 SS comes with an MSRP of over 200k. Same goes for a 292 FasTech equipped just like my ZXO. So, my boat is worth (to me) way more than the market will probably bring right now because there is no way in hell I would sell my boat and add another 100k to get a nearly identically equipped boat in a slightly different format. I have had to blow off more than one shark trying to get a deal in a down economy. There are people that have to sell and the rest of us. Unfortunately the people that have to sell are setting the market Vs. the rest of us. That's perfectly fine... but starting a thread like this about the price going up on a used boat makes one sound like a whiny ***** because they didn't get the original deal. If you don't want to pay the price... don't buy it.

Why do guys get on here and say this stuff!? If your interested ,(not a dreamer, tire kicker). Make an offer in person with cash in hand. If they reject , move on. Quit getting on here and telling everyone what their $$hit$ worth. It's OLD
