I had water in the oil of a boat I fixed. I drained the oil/water, put three quarts of oil in it, then a quart of diesel down both sides (five quart capacity). Fired the engine and ran for five minutes, draine the diesel/oil, then refilled with oil and had no problems. Diesel has a lot of lubricating qualities, and it will cut the oil/water mix.
