Default To small to go to 1000 Islands poker run ?

Hello everybody i would like to make a my second poker run this year and i would like to know if it is possible to participate in the 1000 island poker run with a 25` outlaw (496 ho) .
Last year i participated in the quebec city poker run and i really enjoyed the trip (61 boats registered).
This year i want to do another poker run and the 1000 island poker run seem to be my best choice seeing as it is close to home .
Would it is possible to find out the 1000 islands schedule card stop and starting area.

A friend of north of the border

Cool welcome 25 hors

That sounds kind of bad.

To answer your question: No. I beleive that the minimum length for 1000 islands is 28 feet. and even that would be a scary ride. With approx. 165 boats the water gets so messed up in our narrow areas that it would be very dangerous for you AND the people around you. But if you have your heart set on it I doult Bill Taylor will turn down cash no matter what size you are. I haven't seen the coarse layout yet(probably tomorrow)but if you decide to go "E" me and I will set up a time and go over some of the tricky areas with you. No offence but most poker runners don't seem to know black from red and up here you might get lucky once but it will cost you eventually.

They had a crew last year that had a 25 outlaw they were dressed as Elvis! PS. Thats why I am taking someone as a Scout that lives up there. To Many BIG ROCKS under the water to deal with!

Last year the cut-off was 28'. They have made exceptions for Racers, but not sure if they would let you run or not. Call them up, the # is on their web site www.pokerrunsamericas.com

Good Luck, Hope to see ya there!

Even if they let you in ... by the end of the day you will wish they didn't. The lead boats( not counting My Way, etc) will average between 80 and 90and it will be the roughest water you've ever been in. You need length and weight to enjoy the ride.

It is a great Poker Run to watch with many oportunities over the weekend to run around with other boats.

I'll second that. The Big boys make a real mess out of things. We were a little tired after last years run. It would definatly be a rough ride in a 25 Baja.

Shanghied: If you or any one else needs a navigator let me know. I know all of the best. Most with captains papers. Real deal.
