But then again, we don't have Mexican's using pot as life rafts either, we have Canadians And usually they go home after a nice dinner, and vice versa for the Americans going there.

Agree Fully!

On the flip side, if anyone thinks the police are not being militarized need only look here.

I think that scares me more than the cartels.

Greg, unfortunately its a sign of the times to come. The criminals are getting more and more agressive with their tactics and LE has to make changes to deal with it. After the Miami FBI shootout, you saw a switch from old revolvers to semi auto pistols. After the North Hollywood shootout, you finally saw assault rifles being adapted on a wide scale for LE. The drug wars in Mexico have been very brutal and they are taking the steps needed to protect themselves and others. There have been incidents of drug runners engaging river patrols in the past. Also, if you look at the stats, Automobile accidents used to be the leading cause of on the job death for police in this country. Firearms have shot up to the top in the last couple of years.

That boat would be great if they would actually shoot at the drug dealers but all they do is watch them swim across the river. Have you guys seen that border wars show, they need to start shooting at those smugglers. If they aren't shooting I think it is a giant waste of taxpayer $$$
