Do I need exhaust bellow?

I was think about this and was wondering if I needed an exhaust bellow? I would like the louder sound so that wouldn't be a problem.

its their for a reason,,if theirs exhaust coming out of the hole in the transom the heat could soften the ujoint bellow and could end up with a hole in it,,your judgement call...

You can have a short bellows section coming out of the gimble. No worries about burning the ujoint bellows, its in the water. You can add a small turn down if you are worried about that. My boys have it set up like that on their 20 ft., no problems

I guess I should restate this. You dont need the exhaust bellow. You can use the straight tube that only gets connected on the gimbal housing

Ok thanks, i didnt think i needed it but wanted to make sure. Does running it without bellows make it sound a little better/louder? I know it will not sound like a thru-hull exhaust but maybe in between thru-hull and through the sterndrive? I think i might cut the exhaust bellow in half so it is a little away from gimbal housing.
