Default Boat from olympic opening??--beckham driving

What was the boat david beckham was driving, carrying the olympic torch in the opening ceremonies? Looked to have 3 outboards and strange hull configuration (like a big hydrostream).
Looked pretty sick!

The boat David Beckham used to carry the Olympic torch on was an Ice marine boat, a rib version of the hard boat that I believe was seen at the Miami boat show some years ago, I would also like to add that the hard boat had many issues that had been aired on boatmad, Cookee on here has the low down on that as he altered one

However this is the rib version ...

Yes we made some changes to one of the very first leisure versions of those hulls - we were also in the Red Sea Rib Rally in 2006 with the first Rib version out of the mould - they were designed by Lorne Campbell who also drew our first race boat.

They are a "Stabilised Monohull" rather than a Trimaran according to Lorne - the idea is that Cats have their lift a long way forwards which means they are prone to going over backwards - moving the centre of lift aft where the weight is makes them safer and faster - well that's the plan!

Agree- the whole segment was cool as hell- had me jumping up and down on the couch. For me it was the high point of the night- the rest of it was all downhill.
